• Caroline Burrell has lived in Bray since 1996.  Her hobbies include Roller-blading, Cycling & Walking. She ran for the first time in the 2004 local elections for the Green Party, came 3rd out of 13 Candidates, polling at 8.68% and was elected as a Councillor for Bray Town Council. With a particular interest in the environment, heritage & regeneration, sustainable planning & development, she is concerned with involving the local community in decision-making in Co. Wicklow.

    In conjunction with her Green colleagues she has been successful in getting all-party support on Bray Town Council for a Special Amenity Area Order for Bray Head which will protect it into the future from inappropriate development, a Swimming Pool and a Recycling Centre for Bray as well as getting the town declared a GMO-Free Zone.

    She ran in the 2009 local elections but did not retain her seat. Since that time she enrolled in the Bray Institute of Further Education to do a one-year course in Culture & Heritage Studies.

    The Wicklow Heritage Forum; Wicklow Tourism Board (Company Secretary); Bray Fairtrade Steering Committee; Bray Drugs Awareness Forum (Chair), Bray Area Partnership Board, Bray Community Enterprise Board (Treasurer), The National Disability Authority and is also a Peace Commissioner. She is also involved in a Community Garden set up in Festina Lente, Old Connaught, Bray.
